Broadband Statistics for 2006 from OECD Directorate for Science, Technology, and Industry:

Subscribers per 100 inhabitants:

  1. Denmark - 31.9 subscribers.
  2. Netherlands - 31.8 subscribers.
  3. Iceland - 29.7 subscribers.

Total subscribers:

  1. United States - 58 million subscribers.
  2. Japan - 26 million subscribers.
  3. Germany & Korea - 14 million subscribers each.

Broadband technologies:

  1. DSL - 62%.
  2. Cable Modem - 29%.
  3. Fibre + LAN - 6%.
