Sangitha coordinates AI’s work and teams in India, focusing on improving non-profit organizations’ fiscal management and operational efficiency. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who revels in numbers and believes that numbers have powerful stories to tell, if only collected and analyzed appropriately.

Based in Bangalore, India, Sangitha has been helping small non governmental organizations enhance their capacity to achieve their mission by helping to improve their management, operations, and fiscal practices and procedures. She focuses on assisting NGOs with developing and implementing customized financial best practices and improved management procedures for enhanced efficiency and transparency. She serves as “CFO on Wheels” for Indian NGOs. Her areas of specialization include NGO management, financial operations, and organizational policies & procedures.

Prior to returning to India, she was an auditor at Grant Thornton, LLP, where she specialized in non profit accounting and auditing. Her clients included Alternative Fluorocarbons Environmental Acceptability Study (AFEAS), Boston Ballet, National Democratic Institute (NDI), National Association of Social Workers, and TERC.

Sangitha has a Masters in Accountancy from American University, Washington DC. Her family of an absent-minded professor and two children under five make her adept at multi-tasking and managing diverse interest groups.
