Open Source Crowd Funding Platforms – An Overview

Crowdfunding platform is one of the ideas we have been toying around for a bit at Appropriate IT. It will probably get on our product pipeline at some point in the future. In the meanwhile, here is some preliminary research in response to the blog post at DoNeki on How to Build a Crowd-Funding Site. We started with the answers in response to a question on Quora: Is there an open source crowdfunding platform?
